Expertise

As an Associate Director in Vincents’ Forensic Accounting unit, Julia specialises in the preparation of expert accountants’ reports across a broad range of personal injury, family law and commercial litigation matters.

Julia has a particular interest in financial modelling and statistical analysis for the assessment of economic loss, fund management costs for brain injured plaintiffs, loss of dependency claims and class actions.

Julia has prepared expert reports in relation to all Australian jurisdictions and for a number of international matters.  Julia has provided expert testimony in the following jurisdictions:

  • Supreme Court of the ACT, QLD and VIC
  • District Court of NSW
  • Federal Circuit Court of Australia
  • Family Court of Australia

Background

Julia joined Vincents' Brisbane office in 2007 after previously working in taxation and insolvency services.  In 2009, Julia established Vincents' Canberra office where she led the local Forensic Accounting unit for 8 years and oversaw significant growth in the local office.  In 2017 Julia established Vincents' Adelaide office, specialising in the areas of forensic accounting and litigation support.  Julia continues to lead the local Adelaide Forensic Accounting unit and works extensively in both the SA and ACT jurisdictions.

Julia has 15 years of experience in the professional accounting industry and for the past 12 years has worked exclusively in the area of forensic accounting, litigation support and business valuations. Prior to this, she practiced in taxation and insolvency services.

Publications & Presentations

Julia has published and presented many papers on a variety of forensic accounting issues for various professional organisation including the Law Society of South Australia, the Law Society of the Australian Capital Territory, the South West Slopes Law Society and the Australian Lawyers Alliance.  Julia also regularly provides training and presentations to solicitors and insurers to assist them in understanding business valuations and the assessment of damages in personal injury matters.
