Paul is an Associate Director with Vincents and has over 20 years’ experience in delivering value-added governance solutions. He specialises in internal audit, risk management, regulatory compliance, operational, financial (including Sarbanes-Oxley) and risk-based assurance and is an experienced fraud investigator.

Paul has experience developing and delivering assurance maps, risk assessments, strategic internal audit programs, audit test plans and audit reports. Additionally, Paul has delivered training for the professional exams of the Institute of Internal Auditors, UK, and Ireland, and regularly undertakes in-house presentations to Senior Management and general colleagues regarding risk management and governance.

Paul has always been passionate that internal audit and risk management are collaborative processes, empowering colleagues to own and mitigate their risks so that good governance is embedded and becomes second nature.

Background

Prior to relocating to Australia and joining Vincents, Paul lived in the UK and was employed with Chetwood Financial, for which he provided assurance and compliance advisory services to establish a high standard of governance and internal controls at this newly established challenger bank and initiate the Enterprise Risk Management process.

This role followed many years in industry, financial services, and professional practice. Similarly, these engagements included numerous international assignments in organisations with varying standards of controls, diverse methodologies, differing priorities and cultures, requiring quick establishment of rapport at all levels of business. Paul’s creative skills and experience enable him to identify risks and issues and deliver improvements to governance and business processes.
