Vincents was founded over 30 years ago in 1989 by its namesake director Paul Vincent after a 10 year career at KPMG. Within two years, in 1991, the Vincents you see today was born when Jonathan Dooley joined Paul as co-founder of Vincents Litigation Support. Paul and Jonathan had a desire to provide support to solicitors and barristers engaged in litigating claims where numbers are important – and by 1994, the name Vincents had become synonymous with litigation support (in what was later to become known broadly as the field of forensic accounting).
During this time Mark Thompson, joined Paul and Jonathan in leading Vincents in the field of forensic accounting. Covering all aspects of financial support in legal matters, forensic accounting now incorporates valuation, loss and damage assessment, and expert reports in all manner of industries and professions. If there was an argument that could be resolved with money, then Vincents have the expertise to assist you.
By the early 2000’s the firm had expanded its services to include insolvency and business advisory divisions and was five partners strong. 2008 brought with it the Global Financial Crisis, presenting challenging times for many specialist advisory practices.
However, for Vincents, it was an opportunity to significantly expand the firm’s operations and reach, which saw the merger of Vincents with the Brisbane arm of Pitcher Partners – shortly followed by the move of the new firm (retaining the name Vincents) to our current head office premises across three floors in the Santos Place building. That move was closely followed by the firm’s expansion south beyond its Brisbane home – firstly to Sydney and shortly afterwards, Canberra and then the Gold Coast.
Fast forward to 2014 and the firm seized on an opportunity to boost its interstate presence – capitalising on the availability of key players to add firstly assurance and risk advisory, then insolvency, to its already established forensic divisions in Canberra and Sydney. By the end of 2015 that presence had expanded to Melbourne and Adelaide.
2018 saw the amalgamation of MCS Accounting into the Vincents family in Canberra, a move to larger premises, and a successful office launch event. In 2019 we further expanded our operations in Queensland, with the establishment of a new office on the Sunshine Coast.
2023 saw the Vincents brand undergo an entire rebrand to align with the growth and expansion it has undergone in the last 34 years. As a full service firm, Vincents provides an extensive range of financial services including:
