Our history

Operating for over 30 years, Vincents was founded in 1989 by its namesake director, Paul Vincent, from a desire to provide support to solicitors and barristers engaged in litigating claims where the numbers were important.

By 1994, the name Vincents had become synonymous with litigation support (in what was later to become known broadly as the field of forensic accounting), under the leadership of Paul Vincent, Jonathan Dooley and Mark Thompson.

Covering all aspects of financial support in legal matters, the field of forensic accounting now covers valuation, loss and damage assessment and expert reports in all manner of industries and professions, and is a specialisation whose value is often underestimated… until it’s value that matters.

By the early 2000’s the firm had expanded its services to include insolvency and business advisory divisions and was 5 partners strong.

2008 brought with it the Global Financial Crisis, presenting challenging times for many specialist advisory practices.  However it was a chance opportunity to significantly expand the firm’s operations and reach that saw the merger of Vincents with the Brisbane arm of Pitcher Partners – shortly followed by the move of the new firm (retaining the name Vincents) to our current head office premises across 3 floors in the Santos Place building.

That move was closely followed by the firm’s expansion south beyond its Brisbane home – firstly to Sydney and shortly afterwards, Canberra and then the Gold Coast.

Fast forward to 2014 and the firm seized on an opportunity to boost its interstate presence -capitalising on the availability of key players to add firstly assurance and risk advisory, then insolvency, to its already established forensic divisions in Canberra and Sydney.  By the end of 2015 that presence had expanded to Melbourne and Adelaide.

2018 saw the amalgamation of MCS Accounting into the Vincents family in Canberra, a move to larger premises and a successful office launch event.

In 2019 we further expanded our operations in Queensland, with the establishment of a new office in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast.

Our firm
