John is a commercially focused insolvency and restructuring practitioner with experience in:

• Large and small corporate insolvencies including trading receiverships and voluntary liquidations;
• Contentious liquidations of corporate groups bringing claims for recovery against directors and their professional advisors; and
• Advising business owners / directors on risk minimisation strategies.

In addition, John has worked with management consultants on succession planning and change management projects, focused on achieving growth, efficiency and resilience against insolvency.

He has particular expertise in the agricultural, engineering and manufacturing industries.

Background

John has over 30 years’ experience advising businesses in Australia and the UK. He spent over 15 years with two Big 4 accounting firms in the UK and Northern Ireland, working on insolvency appointments and management consulting projects, and a further 15 years advising on insolvency matters in Australia.

He also brings commercial experience, having served as a director of a high precision metal manufacturing company supplying clients in the Formula 1, aerospace, medical and engineering industries.

John holds a background in economics and is a registered legal practitioner in Queensland, having previously practiced as a solicitor before returning to insolvency.
