Expertise

Lance relocated from the Vincents Brisbane office in January 2007 to lead Vincents’ Insurance group in our Sydney office. He was appointed Director in July 2008. While he has experience across a range of forensic engagements, including commercial litigation, business valuations and due diligence assignments, since 2008, Lance’s predominant focus has been insurance litigation, particularly preparing expert witness reports for personal injury litigation and wrongful death claims.

As a result of this focus, as well as his technical forensic accounting expertise, Lance has a thorough understanding of the relevant common law principles and statutory schemes relevant to these types of matters.

Whilst Lance has prepared experts reports for variety of jurisdictions in Australia, he predominantly prepares expert witness reports for matters before the Supreme Court of NSW, the District of NSW, the previous NSW Motor Accident Claims Assessment and Resolution Service (CARS) and the NSW Personal Injury Commission.

In addition to preparing expert witness reports, Lance regularly conducts “in-house” training seminars on assessing economic loss for personal injury and wrongful death claims for personal injury and insurance law firms and claims managers.

Background

Lance joined Vincents in Brisbane in 2003 and has accumulated over 20 years of experience across a broad range of accounting disciplines. This includes working in public practice and commerce as well as a stint at the Australian Taxation Office during the implementation of the GST regime in the early stages of his career.
