As an independent expert, Lance accepts instructions from both Defendants and Plaintiffs and has provided expert opinion in jurisdictions throughout Australia, but particularly in the Supreme Court of NSW, the District Court of NSW and the NSW Motor Accident Authority Claims and Assessment Resolution Service (CARS).
- Certified Practising Accountant (CPA Australia)
- Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance & Investment (Financial Services Institute of Australasia)
- Bachelor of Commerce (University of Queensland)
- Authorised Representative, Vincents Financial Advisory, ABN 40 010 855 991, AFS Licence No 236608
Lance joined Vincents in Brisbane in 2003 and has practiced exclusively as a forensic accountant since that time. Prior to joining Vincents, Lance worked in a number of other accounting disciplines including in a corporate accounting role in London and a stint at the Australian Taxation Office during the implementation of the GST regime.
Lance relocated from the Brisbane office in January 2007 to lead Vincents' Insurance group in our Sydney office. He was appointed Director in July 2008. Since that time, Lance's main focus has been insurance litigation, with a particular emphasis on the assessment of economic loss damages in personal injury litigation and wrongful death claims.
As a result of this focus, complimentary to his general accounting knowledge and commercial acumen, Lance has developed a thorough understanding of the relevant case law and legislation that underpins the assessment of economic loss suffered by Plaintiffs in these kinds of matters. Lance prides himself on his attention to detail and his ability to convey seemingly complicated accounting principles and concepts in a manner which can be readily understood by claims managers, solicitors, barristers and the judiciary.
Lance regularly conducts seminars on the assessment of economic loss damages in personal injury and wrongful death claims at both insurers and law firms. He also undertakes regular 'in house' file reviews at various CTP insurers.
